Tidbits to enhance the awkward chit chat while you wait for people to show up to the Zoom call – courtesy of the curiously Loose Goose:

number 1   Yes! You can get two to-go cocktails when you order a pizza from PIZZA KAT (you can eat and drink up in the restaurant too). But please, be adventurous. Try The Blue Dart cocktail, described as “legendary, good with pizza.” Ingredients? Uncertain, but trust the process.

number 1   Sit in the Tanner Ridge section the next time you go to a Timbers or Thorns game and snag a snack on the way out –free post-match doughnuts! What’s not to love?

number 1   During WWI, rose growers sent rose hybrids from around the world to Portland to be tested at the International Rose Test Garden at Washington Park. Do visit and do stop to smell the roses – more than 10,000 rose bushes with 610 flower varieties.

number 1   Skip the Lyft. Don’t engageyour long-lost parallel parking skills. If you attend a Timbers or Thorns game at Providence Park, the nation’s oldest soccer-specific stadium, your game ticket lets you ride for free on TriMet.

number 1   Bud Clark, who opened the Goose Hollow Inn in 1967, was a beloved Portland mayor from 1985-1993. In the 1970s and early ’80s, Bud actually sold more Bud (of the Weiser fame) than any other tavern in the US on a per-square-foot basis. His other claim to fame? Modeling for the “Expose yourself to Art” poster.

Yes indeed. Now you know.
